Have you been dreaming knowing how to plan your week? A week that felt spacious. And by space what I mean is Space for life? It amazes me when I see entrepreneurs who started their business so they could have a ‘freedom” lifestyle and not be tied to a 9-5 and suddenly become so obsessed they are overwhelmed and looking for an easier way to do it all. It all comes down to having a plan for your week.
So how do you plan your week the right way?
Know your goals before you start
It sounds simple right? But if you don’t know what you are working on how can you plan your week. And I don’t mean a vague oh yeah, my goal is to get more clients. When I work with my clients 1:1 our first step is to define what their big picture vision goals are and then we go about making the road map with all the stops you need to make along the way to get the big ticket goal done.
Knowing this helps to give you a plan for what to do next. When you know your goals, you know your action steps so that the time you allocate to business is productive and effective.
SELF-CARE is a non-negotiable
As entrepreneurs you can so often get caught up in all the things that you forget about yourself. It is critical that when you plan your week you have a list of all the self-care things you need each week so that you can schedule that in when you plan your week.
PLAN your week on a Sunday
Take the time on Sunday or Saturday if thats your jam to plan your week.
- Create your list of the non negotiables - allocate the time you want to spend in those
- Create your action plan list derived from your goals - note your priority 3 - allocate or estimate the time you want to spend on them
- Schedule the non negotiables
- Schedule the work time
Leave space for “space” or plan it. I actually plan a half an hour into my calendar each day for play - I wonder what that could look like for you?
REVIEW and align your plan
I feel like I could have started with this point BUT… You need to know what worked for you and where you are at overall. Think of this as your own little balance session. I do this at the end of my working practice and I adapted the process from one of my peers in the Conquer Club Coaches Group - Reina Pomeroy.
I schedule a time for my review on a Friday - I actually do this when I am planning my week! It usually takes me about half an hour and goes through the following journal prompts:
- Brain dump everything that is in your head stressing me out
- What am I celebrating?
- What did I get done?
- What is stumping me or frustrating me at the moment?
- How do I feel about my life balance - relationship/meals/health?
- What one word describes how I feel in this moment today
- Who did I feel support from this week
- IG follower numbers
- FB follower numbers
- Email list growth
- Am I living out my word of the year
There it is friends 4 steps you can take to plan your week the right way. I hope this helps you, if you do want some help in bringing this all together - I work 1:1 with my clients doing exactly that - you can find out more about that HERE.
